Mars colonist Michelle Arensen, taken from her home against her will and flung into deep space, finds herself in the custody of an intimidating alien race, the powerful Vinyi. Despite her best efforts, the odds of getting back to her family start to dwindle, and Michelle unexpectedly finds that she's begun creating a new place for herself among her alien hosts.
